De Vinne Revival
De Vinne is an old typeface created around 1892 by Central Type Foundry and named after printer Theodore Low De Vinne. It's attributed to Gustav F. Schroeder and Nicholas J. Werner, who credited Schroeder as the main designer. Its recognizable features are triangular endings of C and G and spear-like endings of E, F, T, and L. Retaining these elements is crucial to make De Vinne fit into modern designs. It preserves its historical and aesthetic integrity, bridging the gap between the past and present.
I wanted to retain the characteristics of De Vinne (the triangle ending of C, G, the spear ending of E, F, T, L) to make the ancient typeface fit into the contemporary.
